My story starts in Italy…I was born and raised there. ln my late teen years I decided to come to the States to learn English...it was love at first sight!
My life has been one of curiosity, travel, and discovery…I
lived in Italy, Lebanon, and Switzerland. In the US I have lived in Boston, Tucson, and New York City. Yes Tucson…quite
random, I know! but what an experience. To
this day, nothing fascinates me more than the Sonora Desert’s night or cacti
in bloom! I finally landed in New York where I have built the last 24 years of
my life! I dove into the excitement and energy (and rat race) of the city that doesn’t sleep
and loved it.
However, the most "interesting" part of my life started in 2010 after
an aggressive metastatic breast cancer diagnosis. Yes, it was
scary….scary as hell! But also, the best thing that could have happened to me.
Not once did I ask, “Why me?” but rather “How do I get
passed it”….and passed it I went!
After a series of surgeries (including a double mastectomy),
chemo, and radiation that seemed to last forever, I decided to make small
changes to improve my health. Those changes had a powerful impact; The mind, and
later body shifts, were incredible and fast!
Little did I know that my life would turn around in such a short time and bring so much strength, love, growth, and happiness. I started with
changing my eating habits; that was the beginning of a new life, and a new me.
The journey has taught me that big and lasting improvement doesn’t take
much. It only takes a starting point and a little consistency. The more I
implemented positive changes, the more I looked for them, and the more they "came" to me. It was a natural and organic progression toward all that is good…
I now am cancer free and happier and healthier than ever! I've learned to become determined and resilient. I recently graduated as an
Integrative Health Coach, and I hope to use this blog to share what I have
learned. I will provide tips, ideas, and suggestions on improving our daily life, mental and physical health, and reducing stress.
Hope you enjoy it!
